We are really enjoying our Spring Term in Year 2.
This term we are looking at Africa as part of our Topic work and we are very excited to have an African Drumming Workshop taking place just before half term. The children will be learning all about traditional African musical instruments as well as learning how to play Djembe Drums. They will also learn some traditional African chants and have the opportunity to perform to the other classes in Key Stage 1.
In Art and Design the children have been learning all about African artwork, especially the use of repeating patterns and they have designed and made some superb African masks.
PE this term has been exciting because we have an outside provider teaching the children Rugby. They are having a very energetic time learning all about Tag Rugby and has definitely been one of the more enjoyed PE lessons that they have done so far.7
In Science we are looking at plants and we have investigated pollination, what plants need to survive and what it means to be evergreen or deciduous.
In Writing, Reading and Maths we have been working really hard building on our knowledge and skills and as teachers we are very proud of all the children because they are showing fantastic Growth Mindset.
Well done to everyone in Year 2 - you are doing an awesome job!
