Welcome to class 4LW.
We are absolutely loving this term's topic on 'Ancient Greece'. We have read lots of Greek myths and our class favourite is 'Perseus and Medusa'. It has been really interesting to learn about all of these stories and all the strange characters they include. We loved making Top Trumps cards for the Greek Gods and Goddesses as we managed to find out lots of information we didn't know.
In English, we have had a superb time writing all about some of the famous myths and characters from the Ancient Greek times. Our favourites were describing the Minotaur and writing the story of Perseus and Medusa - Mrs Winfield says our writing has been amazing!
Our artwork this term has been great fun to complete. We have designed our own ancient Greek vases and even made our own 3D monsters and heroes. You can see some of our fantastic work on the wall outside our classroom.
A highlight of the term so far is our scientific investigation on the human digestive system - it was gross! We think it is going to help us remember the different parts of the digestive system though.
We have been extremely busy since September, enjoying our brilliant topic of Chocolate. We have learned all about the Mayans (the people who first turned Cocoa beans into chocolate). We have even learned some Mayan Maths! As part of our topic we were lucky enough to visit Cadbury World. Here we went into a 4D Cinema where we sat on moving chairs and it felt like we were really on a rollercoaster. We also had a tour of the factory where we got to taste some delicious liquid chocolate and see all the machines.
In Maths this term we have become far more confident at lots of different skills - we can even do algebra! In English we have enjoyed writing poems, descriptions and leaflets and we're all trying very hard to improve our handwriting.
We have been swimming this term at the Rebecca Adlington pool - we all really enjoyed it and we can't wait to start Pop Lacrosse next week!
